I am told that this lovely but unconventional surface goes along with a surprisingly powerful flavor. This must be the Ida Lupino of Squash.
These do look a bit like a preschool art project gone haywire-in a good way. Did you buy one and cook with it? Inquiring minds want to know.

ReplyDeleteI did not yet buy one--I am frantically trying to keep up with the vegetables coming in from my csa. I will have to try one, they are supposed to be very rich and sweet, but they are also HUGE. I will need help. I also want to get a Marina di Chioggia this fall, but they are huge too.
