Are three of the more interesting Google queries that have brought you here, dear readers. Of the three, only "pork salad" has been addressed here so far, but I hope In Mol Araan has provided at least some gratification.

Perhaps heimishe porn is connected to the recent Atlantic Monthly article about "house porn," i.e., glossy interior decorating magazines?
I'm pretty sure that "pork salad" is meant to be "poke salat." Which makes sense, since many of those who eat it traditionally speak derhotacizing dialects, particularly African Americans. Incidentally, there's a song I like called "Poke Salat Annie" which is worth tracking down.
mzn, I didn't know about "house porn."
ben, have another look today's post, which I have edited to include links back to the story of my decade-long pursuit of the Pork salad question. As you will see, Poke Salad Annie plays a vital role.
Pork salad —unless it actually refers to something like deviled ham, which I doubt— is a hyper-correction of "poke salad." Poke salad is made from the young leaves of pokeweed, Phytolacca americana. Altho' pokeweed contains toxins that are poisonous to us mammals, poke salad was a staple of rural Southern cooking. The leaves are boiled three or more times, changing the water each time, reducing the toxins to tolerable levels.
"Poke Salad Annie" was written and recorded by Tony Joe White in 1969, in Muscle Shoals, AL [of course]. It was covered by Elvis in the 1970s.
