How do you pronounce the first word of the compound meaning "lunar eclipse"? likui? likwi? likvi? likoyi?

Niborski says "likeh". There's several words that follow this pattern: װידוי (confession)--pronounced "videh" in Yiddish. Can't think of another right now but I'm sure I will in the middle of the night. (In standard transliteration that would be "like" and "vide". Standard transliteration is not really intended as a way to represent pronunciation of the loshn-koydesh words, though.)

thanks lao qioa and nomi,

standard transliteration works fine for loshn-koydesh words as long as you know you are using it. in the context of a sentence in English, though, like looks like it should be "like."

Some people, under the influence of "integral"/"whole"/yeshivah-learned Ashkenazi Hebrew, say "likui" and "vidui" even in their Yiddish. For what that's worth.
