Throop and Whipple sounds like a law firm in a Dickens novel.

thanks miriam and nomi.

A website devoted to Whipple family genealogy indicates that someone married a Throop at some point. Whipple was among the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Ponte Vecchio mentions that this corner used to be in Bedford-Stuyvesant, but has of late fallen into the Williamsburg sphere-of-influence.
