Thinking About Nuts

Nobody Ever Thinks About Nuts multimedia screen by Elizabeth Tashjian

On the contrary, I have been thinking a great deal about nuts. I seem not yet to have made the sweet potato soup for which this chile-nut salsa was the intended garnish, but I did mix some of the salsa into an omelet. That was very nice.

I think about nuts quite a bit, yet (fortunately) to date, my head has not exploded. I like the sound of that salsa. Recently, I made a sweet potato soup, and put some pumpkin seed oil on it.
Have you tried that? It is very strong and points up squashy-tasting foods in a nifty way. I got some at Kalustyans' when I was in NY. It comes in tiny little bottles, which are very cute. You just use a tiny dab on top.

I had a bit of pumpkin-seed oil once, and I like it very much, but I have not used it myself so far. The whole-foodie in me would be tempted to add it to a pumpkin soup.

I finally made the potato soup--it is just the thing.
